Seacoast Utility Authority is committed to excellence in customer service. Part of that commitment is to ensure the existing water and sewer infrastructure is replaced on an ongoing and timely basis ensuring reliable utility service to its’ customers. This page provides information on some of the ongoing projects to meet our goal of excellence.

Lift Station 19 Force Main Replacement

  • Replacement of an existing Sanitary Sewer 8-inch force main pipe from the SUA sanitary sewer pump station # 19 to the Ballenilses Community.  The station is  located on the west side of Trail Pines Avenue.
  • Work is located within the drainage easement from Trail Pines Avenue west across Green Meadow Way to the utility easement west of the homes on Green Meadows Way and then north to the Ballenisles Community.
  • Replacement work consist the installation of a new  8” PVC and HDPE force main to replace the existing 8” force main by direct bury and directional drill method of construction.
  • Work also includes the abandonment of the existing force main along with new fencing around the existing SUA pump station # 19 at Trail Pines Avenue.
  • Sanitary Sewer service should not be affected during this work.
  • Disruption to traffic flow should be minimal.
  • Those residences living adjacent to the construction activities will experience some construction related noise.
  • Construction activities are schedule to start late October 2022 and continue through January 2023.

GARDEN ISLES WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

  • Replacement of existing infrastructure with new ductile iron pipe (DIP) water main and associated fittings, valves, service lines, fire hydrants, and appurtenances by CES Construction.
  • Installation of sewer point of service cleanouts to those properties lacking them.
  • Restoration of all areas disturbed by construction activities, including, but not limited to: Roadways; Driveways; Sidewalks; Existing utilities; Irrigation; Sodding; Landscaping; Mailboxes; Light poles; and Pavement striping.
  • Pressure testing, bacteriological testing, and density testing.

NORTHLAKE BLVD., ROAN LANE, AND SANDTREE WATER AND FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

  • Replacement of existing water and sewer infrastructure with a new water main and new sanitary sewer force main.
  • Water main work will include new water main crossing Northlake Blvd. at Sandtree Drive.
  • Sanitary sewer force main work will consist of a new replacement main from the Home Depot on Sandtree Drive north across Northlake Blvd. and west through the alleyway to Roan Lane.
  • Northlake Blvd. water main and force main crossing Northlake Blvd. will be by directional drill beneath Northlake Blvd. to minimize traffic disruption on Northlake Blvd.
  • Scheduled roadway lane closures will occur at various times on Sandtree Drive and Roan Lane.
  • Construction started on February 28, 2022.

Lift Station # 20 Replacement Project

  • Replacement of existing sanitary sewer lift station, which serves Cabana Colony, Lone Pine Estates, and Cross Community Church.
  • Work is located north of the canal at the north end of Colony Avenue.
  • Replacement work consists of replacing the pump station, related piping, new access driveway, and fencing.
  • Work also includes the installation of a permanent generator to provide power to the pump station during power outages.
  • Sanitary sewer service should not be affected during this work.
  • No disruption of traffic flow is anticipated.
  • Those residences living immediately south of the pump station will experience some construction noise.
  • Construction activities are schedule to start mid to late May 2022 and continue through January 2023.

US – 1 SOUTH WATER AND SEWER FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT

Seacoast Utility Authority is upgrading the water and sewer infrastructure along US 1 from Silver Beach Road to the Earman River. The project consists of:

  • Replacement of approximately 4,300 feet of existing water main along US 1 from the Earman River bridge south to Silver Beach Road including the installation of new water service lines and fire hydrants.
  • Replacement of approximately 1,000 feet of existing sanitary sewer force main along Greenbriar Drive from 2nd Street to Lakeshore Drive.
  • Replacement of a short section of gravity sewer main and sewer manhole at Kelsey Park.
  • Installation of the new water main will be by open trench cut method.
  • Installation of the new force main will be by horizontal directional drill method.
  • Short-term lane closures will be required throughout the duration of the project.
  • Daytime lane closures will generally consist of a single lane closure
  • Nighttime lane closures, when used, may require closure of two or more lanes.
  • Construction is scheduled to start around February 1 2023 and should be completed by November 2023.

PLANNING AND FUTURE PROJECTS

Preliminary planning for pipeline infrastructure replacement is underway. A planning map depicts future projects with estimated dates of construction. Priority is considered by age, failure history, service history, and materials concerning the likelihood/consequence of failure. Where possible, these project delivery dates may be adjusted to coordinate with projects by others to minimize customer inconvenience. Click here for the planning map.
