Why do I need to install a backflow?

 All businesses and all residential properties that have a private sewer pump station are required to have a backflow to prevent contaminates from entering the Authority’s water system. Food service facilities with 50+ seats are required to have a dual backflow.

Why are grease interceptors required by the Authority?

 Grease interceptors (traps) are required to ensure grease, fats and oils are separated from wastewater prior to reaching the Authority’s facilities to avoid potential sewer back up to the community.

What customers are required to install a grease interceptor?

 All non-residential food preparation or dining facilities.
